"Better Living Through Giving"

What Does The Foundation Do?

Through trustee banks, the principal of each fund is invested in order to produce distributable income.   After an initial incubate period, earnings are dispersed as grants.  These grants are given to a wide variety of charitable organizations in accordance with the provisions of the agreement creating each fund.  The areas in which the Foundation makes these grants include the arts, education, health, human services, recreation, and other charitable causes.

Financial Information

The IRS Form 990 submitted by the Greater Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation is available for review in the TGGVCF offices, 109 Jefferson Street, Lewisburg, WV 24901. The Greater Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation annual audit is available for review in the TGGVCF offices and printed in the annual report.

How Does The Foundation Work?

Responsibility for policy and direction is vested in a volunteer Board of Directors, consisting of residents from all three counties in the Greenbrier Valley. Portfolio managers at trustee banks administer the Funds for the Foundation.  Their performance is reviewed periodically by TGGVCF's Investment and Spending Committee.
