What Does The Foundation Do?
 
Through trustee banks and managers, the principal of each Fund is invested for the continued production of distributable income. It distributes that income and, under certain circumstances, a portion of the principal itself, in accordance with the provisions of the instrument creating each Fund, as grants to a wide variety of organizations and individuals. The areas of: art and culture, education, health, human services, land use, recreation or other charitable areas of interest
 
Mission
 

The mission of The Greater Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation (TGGVCF) is to create a tradition of charitable giving and enhance the quality of life of the people of the Greenbrier Valley by accepting contributions, managing funds and making charitable distributions.

 
How Does The Foundation Work?
 

Responsibility for policy and direction is vested in a volunteer Board of Directors, consisting of residents of the Greenbrier Valley. Trustee banks, investment managers and an investment advisory company administer the Funds for the Foundation through our affiliation with the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation.
